One of the most common questions we receive is also the simplest to answer: where does the price of VTR come from?
The answer is: not from us.
A public pool, visible to everyone
VTR trades against USDC in a liquidity pool on Uniswap V3 on the Polygon network. Liquidity in that pool is owned by the protocol.
The price is a result of what is in the pool. It is not a number we type, publish or adjust. Anyone can open the pool page and read the same value we read — at any hour, without asking us, without an account and without our cooperation.
Why this matters
When a price is set by the team behind a token, the team can set it wrong. They can delay it, shade it, or let it drift for convenience. A buyer has no way to check it independently.
A public pool removes that power entirely. The pool does not know who we are and does not care what we would prefer. It reflects what the market is actually doing, and we have to live with the same price everybody else does.
How to check the price yourself
- Open the VTR/USDC pool on GeckoTerminal or the Uniswap interface
- Read the current price and the liquidity
- Compare it with the pool data on Polygonscan
You do not need to be a specialist to do this. You only need to not want to take our word for it — which is exactly the right instinct.
What this does not mean
It does not mean the price is stable, fair, or a good deal. Liquidity is modest, and a modest pool can move for reasons that have nothing to do with the protocol.
It also does not mean the token is an investment. VTR is a utility and governance token: no return, yield, buyback or guaranteed value is offered or implied by anyone at VETRA.
What it does mean is narrower — and we think more valuable: the number is not ours to control. It belongs to the market, and you can verify it yourself.
